On Sunday around 9:46 pm deputies in Wayne County arrested a 17-year-old Newark resident after an investigation into fake money being passed a local business.
Deputies say Hunter F.J. Peck, 17, of Newark attempted to pass a fake $100 bill marked as “cinematic money only” at the Lyons Kwik Fill Gas Station on Forgham St. on June 18th around 4:16 am.
Peck was trying to buy two Gatorade drinks, as well as a Slim Jim to receive cash back as change.
Peck was charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument, which is a felony.
The charges will be answered at a later date in Wayne County Court.
